Conclusion-oriented
This story struck me as very telling of the ACLU's motives. The ACLU is often regarded as anti-religious almost to the point of bigotry (see link in previous post). But here it stands on behalf of a church. Why? Because the city requires the church to apply for permits to feed the homeless. Clearly the ACLU is in line with religion's social welfare agenda. What is befuddling is that the ACLU shows such disdain for the beliefs that underlie religion-inspired charity.
